Before returning your Austar hearing aid, please make sure you have gone through the troubleshooting guide and have addressed the following common issues:
Q: Have you given yourself enough time to try the hearing aids?
A: At minimum, it takes about 7 days for your brain to start getting used to hearing aids. Keep in mind that your hearing aids are compensating for your degree of hearing loss, and it will take time for you to condition your brain to processing the new sounds.
Q: Why does everything sound tinny and loud?
A: Everything will sound loud during the first 7 days. Your brain is re-registering sounds that were missing prior to the hearing aids.
Q: Is there wax build-up in the tubing and/or domes of your Austar device?
A: Clean the tubing and device with a soft, dry cloth, and use the cleaning brush and/or wire.
Q:Have the batteries run out?
A: Put in new batteries of the correct size and close the battery door fully, until you hear a click, and then chimes will indicate that the aid has turned on.
Q: Is there excessive whistling or feedback?
A: Play with the ideal positioning of the ear piece in your ear canal. Try a different dome and reduce the volume of your hearing aid. It may be set at levels that are too high. *Keep in mind that there are times when feedback should occur. This lets you know your device is working.
Q: Have you tried a different-sized tube or dome so that it fits more comfortably?
A: If you need assistance changing these pieces, please refer to the pictures in your user guide. If you do not have additional tubes or domes, let us know and we can send you these items free of charge.

If for whatever reason you aren't 100% satisfied with our hearing aids, you can return them to us within 30 days for a full refund. There are no restocking fees or other hidden fees to trial an Austar hearing aid (we won't be able to cover the return shipping fees). We make the return process very simple and there are no discussions required to get a full refund within the 30 day trial period.
Once the hearing aids are received back in our office, a member of our team will contact you to confirm the refund has been processed within 72-hours upon receipt, provided that the hearing aid(s) are still in good condition.
Reprogramming If you are not fully satisfied with the sound quality or amplification settings on the hearing aid, the device might require some re-programming. We offer these adjustments for free for the life of the hearing aid and would simply send us your audiogram, to better address your issue: Then, send back your hearing aids and we will return them to you with the necessary adjustments.

If you are returning your hearing aids during the 30-day span

To return your hearing aids, please follow the steps below:
Email us and clearly describe the problem. Please send by USPS,put the hearing aids (with the casing) in a well padded package. Ideally, use bubble wrap or any other material to protect the hearing aids from damaging Seal and insure the package from the shipping company Mail the package to the address indicated in the website and/or get a tracking number and/or have signature confirmation to ensure it gets delivered to us. We cannot be held responsible for any lost or damaged shipments and will not accept damaged hearing aids as returns. The 30-day trial period will start from the day we ship the device, which will be indicated in your order receipt. If you decide to return a product, the mailing date should be no later than 30 days after the shipping date. Also, keep in mind that the returns policy applies to hearing aids only and that we won't be able to cover the return shipping fees. Note also that for international orders, we will not be able to cover shipping and customs costs (if applicable).
Note : the returns policy will not apply, if not notify before shipping to us,if an Austar device has been modified or damaged, or if the serial number has been altered, or if repairs have been made without the consent and knowledge of Austar. In such case, you will be billed for the full amount of the device.
Product Warranty All our hearing aids come with a full 12 months manufacturer warranty that covers manufacturing defects. The guarantee will not be valid if a Austar device has been modified or damaged by the user, or if the serial number has been altered, or if repairs have been made without the consent and knowledge of Austar.
